Krishna Fluting in a Landscape
A very fine and intricate gauche painting showing Krishna mesmerising the gopis with his flute! With tall doll-like figures and gold-adorned fabrics, the styling is very typical to the Bikaner school from Rajasthan, which had strong cross connections with the Deccan artists' atelier. This work seems to be inspired by one of the master artists and dates back to the early 18th century.
